چکیده
Introduction Lung lesions include a large variety of benign and malignant conditions. Lung carcinoma is the most common carcinoma in the world today, comprising 12.6% of all the cancers and 17.8% of all the [1] cancer deaths. Benign lesions include inflammatory conditions comprising of acute Inflammatory conditions, granulomatous inflammation, specific infections ( Aspergillus, Phycomycetes, Fusarium , Candida ) , reparative and reactive changes, pneumoconiosis, pulmonary infarct, congenital bronchogenic cyst, nodular amyloidosis and wegener's granulomatosis. Neoplastic lesions includes primary and secondary neoplasms. Primary neoplasm includes squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, lepidic adenocarcinoma, small cell carcinoma, large cell carcinoma, carcinoid tumour, sarcomatoid carcinoma and adenosquamous carcinoma. Other rare primary tumors includes pulmonary blastoma and pulmonary carcinosarcoma.

Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology versus Fine Needle Capillary Sampling in Cytological Diagnosis of Thyroid Lesions
Background and Objectives: Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) is an established out- patient procedure used in primary diagnosis of palpable thyroid lesions. A modified technique fine needle capillary sampling (FNCS) obviates the need of suction, is less painful, patient friendly and reported to overcome the problem of inadequate and bloody specimens. The aim of our study was to compare the...

Background& Objective: Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) is an easy, rapid, and less hazardous tool to diagnose the intra-abdominal lesions with various imaging modalities adding to its sensitivity and accuracy. However, sometimes it does not yield adequate information for precise diagnosis and the risk of false-negative and indeterminate diagnosi...

متن کاملPredictive Success Factors for CT-Guided Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy of Pulmonary Lesions
OBJECTIVE Computed tomography-guided percutaneous fine needle aspiration biopsy of lung lesions is a simple, safe and reproducible procedure. Currently, it is widely used to diagnose lung lesions. However, different factors can influence the success rates of this procedure. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of radiological and procedural characteristics in predicting the ...
